A Christmas Weekend Post
blah blah blah and then Daniel Craig said to me, "Stop it!!!", blah blah blah

How did Chicago become the mecca for filming Christmas movies?
It’s been a very good Christmas with the fam, chosen fam, beloved friends, and my dogs.
Part of what has made that possible is…
Not paying attention to Trump during this weekend. Wait a minute, he made another outrageously hateful, bigoted, and corrupt comment/action/policy decision made while crafting a tweet with horrible grammar? No kidding.
I can get caught up on Monday.
We have been watching Christmas movies, eating Christmas kinds of foods, and loving each other’s company. Yes, I even hung out with a bunch of used-to-be-but-still-very-conservative Resident Clump supporters, and none of us allowed him to steal or dominate the conversation. I hope that made Trump’s energy vampire heart hurt a little.
But instead…
Instead, we had a big discussion on why a ton of Christmas movies are set in Chicago. Why Chicago? I love Chicago, and apparently, it’s a Christmas mecca. Why haven’t I noticed this before?
We attended one of the rowdiest white elephant gift exchange parties (about 28 people of very diverse backgrounds), and almost everyone ended up with at least one blanket and a bottle of alcohol of some kind. During this activity, I sat next to my new trans friend, and we hooted and hollered the whole time. And she was number 20 something and when it came to be her turn, she set off a chain of gift stealing that had everyone laughing hard.
I ended up with a wild hat and a gigantic towel, lol. So much fun. Also, did you know that key lime mini moon pies exist in the world? They do! I like them. They kind of taste like soap; just ignore that part.
Dan and I met author Danielle Apple and her husband yesterday for lunch. We have been friends online for a long time, so meeting her in person was a wonderful moment. Danielle followed Dan’s lead in ordering the Sanford Special (Indiana pork tenderloin sandwich, photo above), and it was kind of hilarious. We had such a good time talking about life. Our husbands talked a LOT about cars, lol. But after lunch, Danielle and I had a really good conversation on where we are at spiritually, and some Christians came up and asked us if they could pray for us, and … duhn duhn … this will all be in another post. :)
I signed her copy of WHY, and she signed and gave me copies of her books. SO fun to wear my friend and author hat. I’ve already started reading Hauntings.
With all that said…
There’s so much more that happened, like leather night* at Barcodes last night, and a lot of everything else is going straight into the Good Memories file in my brain.
Mugwump Ramblings, Ask-It Basket, and my Sexplorer posts will all be back after New Year’s, so stay tuned. Love y’all, and thanks so much for reading and hanging out here with me.

* Yes, leather night is what you think it is but while I like the aesthetic, and the guys are a lot of fun, the leather scene is not my bedroom scene.
