Beyond The Stained Glass Closet - Weekend Edition - Issue #17
Hello Friends!
We are back from our grand sea voyage across the Eastern Caribbean, and I am still tired a week later! LOL. But it is a good kind of tired.
Sharing my journey to help protect others
I only did one post here last week because of said exhaustion, but it is an important one (linked below) in that it explains the primary motivation behind writing my memoir. Considering everything going on in our culture and politics, it’s just as confusing and dangerous for LGBTQ+ teens and young adults as ever. I want them to feel seen even if they are being forced to stay in the closet.
We see signs of hope with bipartisan support to protect marriage for gay people in both houses. But unfortunately, powerful influences are still willing to strip away all the progress LGBTQ+ advocates have made over the years. I know from personal experience that they will not stop trying to do so until religious bigotry loses its hold in the highest institutions of our country.
Do you know who else won’t stop? Me. Join me in sharing your story and life lessons to help empower and guide others not to fall into the same traps.
Buckle up, buttercup…again!
Memoir update: I already have homework in coming up with design ideas for the book cover, working with the team to develop a social media plan, and hitting the road running on the content editing this Monday morning on a conference call with the lead editor. I am very excited, and it will be a lot of work. But I am up for the challenge! So send all the prayers, positive vibes, and good thoughts. I appreciate it.
As always, thank you for your friendship and support. You all have a wonderful day and a beautiful week!
