Beyond The Stained Glass Closet - Weekend Edition - Issue #14
Orlando Pride, our six-year and one-year anniversaries this weekend, and facing off with BTE: Big Troll Energy
Dear Friends,
Orlando Pride = Our Sixth Together Anniversary.
I am going, to be honest. I had a weensy* bit too much to drink at Pride yesterday, and while I am not proud of all my behavior… I wore my new “Queer” t-shirt, and we had a gay ol’ time.
*weensy in this context is way too much (for me). At least when I let my hair down, I do so around safe people.
My husband was the designated driver, and we got home safe around 10:30 PM (we are such WILD party gays staying out till all hours like that and ate cheeseburgers on the way home (even WILDer). Those were the best cheeseburgers ever! Well, at least they seemed that way at the time. But, as I mentioned, Dan asked me out at Pride six years ago, so we mark our anniversary together at pride each year. Link to the full post on that below or click here.
We did have a great time visiting with friends, making new ones, and watching the parade. It’s worth letting your hair down to celebrate your love and community without fear. Thank you, Orlando!
Today is Dan And My 1st Wedding Anniversary.
One year ago today, I saw a lifetime of dreams I never thought I could have come true. I married my husband, got promoted from Fairy Godmother to Bonus Dad with Fairy Godmother tendencies, and celebrated our love surrounded by friends and family. Our anniversary present is a luxury cruise (Virgin Voyages) in three weeks!
I wrote more about this in the post linked above and below but suffice it to say; I love my life and my husband more than I ever thought I could. He makes me a better person in ways I didn’t know I needed to be better.
That and he’s fun. Lots of fun. And very handsome, too! Happy Anniversary, my love.
Podcast and Video Update Will Resume Next Week
Because we were running around Orlando like flaming (proudly) gay men yesterday and celebrating our wedding anniversary, I will produce the next podcast and video next week. The video is exclusive to paid subscribers, so if you would like to support this publication and have access to exclusive content, please upgrade to a paid subscription (pretty darn cheap, purposefully so).
Speaking of upgrades, another reason I am delaying the podcast and video is that I have a professional voice-over artist (my friend Ben Patrick Johnson) doing my intro and outro stuff for the podcast, and I am taking the time to create nice(r) graphics and what not for the video. So worth the effort; you are worth the effort.
Thank you for being wonderful, and I appreciate your reading, listening, viewing, and support.
Have a beautiful week. Links to last week’s posts are below,
Btw , I think that’s cool that Dan was the designated driver. That shows restraint … and love on his part. He allowed you to freely enjoy yourself; while he held back on his own enjoyment. That’s real love 😊
Hey, Randy. We’re all works in progress , and as believers we still sin and will til the day we die. But that’s ok. We aren’t trusting in our righteousness but His. Rest up today and drink some non-alcoholic beverages. Look forward to hearing more about yesterday as you find time to share … whenever that may be.
