This will be short and sweet because I must help my husband do a million things before 30 people show up at our house tonight for my 55th birthday party! My birthday is tomorrow, the 14th, but tomorrow is Mother’s Day, so… party tonight!

As I mentioned in my last post, please donate to the promotion and marketing GoFundMe campaign for my book “WHY.” Since my last post, we have crested $1,000! The first goal is $10k, but I would like to have $1600 raised over the course of the next few days.

Honestly, if it hadn’t been for the love of my LGBTQ+ friends and loved ones, I would not have made it this far to celebrate a 55th birthday. WHY is part of my paying it forward to honor Mella’s request that I help others as she (a drag queen) helped me as a homeless nineteen-year-old. Far too many young LGBTQ+ people are being abused, surviving abuse, and tempted to live a lie because of systemic homophobia. Instead, they need to hear they can survive and thrive without being hijacked by religious stigma, especially ex-gay ministry.
